I'm John West and I'm pretty new to this community but I would very much like to share my SEO help and experiences with you guys if that's possible.
So I'm going to write a few of my SEO tips that I have here and I hope you guys will enjoy them and put them to use if you haven't already because these really are things that have worked for me. These are both On-Site and Off-Site SEO tricks so I hope you'll like it.
First I'd like to give you a list of easy backlinks that you can get to your website right away:
1. www.Reddit.com - Join there and submit your website.
2. www.InfoTiger.com - Submit your site.
3. www.Stumpedia.com - Search for your keyword and add your site as a result.
4. www.connectedy.com - Join and submit your site to your profile.

Now let's go a little bit into your Pages and on-site SEO because people often put down the importance of this one.
1. Always use alt tags in images. Put your keyword in the tag if possible and it will be great for your rankings. For Example:
<img src="http://www.v7n.com/forums/images/yourpic.gif" alt="My Keyword">
2. Do a proper keyword research before you go after a keyword. For example once when I didn't do a proper keyword research (this was when I had just started with SEO) I worked for 3 months to rank at the top of a keyword... and when I finally got to spot nr. 3 on Google I saw that I had 35 million other results that I had competed against and that the search volume of this keyword was about 5 people/day only!!! Guess if that bummed me. $1000+ lost and 3months of my time. Even though I learned enormously during that time it sucked. And you don't want to have that feeling trust me.
3. Ok next what you really have to do is add a robots.txt file to your root directory in your server. Just open Notepad and write in nothing else but "User-agent: *" and save the file as robots.txt and upload it to your server. Takes maybe 2 minutes maximum to do this and it's an invitation for Googles crawlers to come and crawl all your pages.
4. Don't use the same anchor text in all of your backlinks. Sure try to use your keywords as much as possible but don't always just use your main keyword and nothing else as anchor text. Google will filter away some of those links just because they see that all of your links have the same anchor text. So keep this in mind when you build backlinks to your site.
5. Keyword order and proximity is really cool actually. Order is in which order you write the keywords in your keyword phrase in your content. And keyword proximity is how close the individual words in your keyword phrase are to each other in your content. So this is something you should think about when you write your content... Try to have a good keyword proximity and keyword order so that it still looks natural because we all know Google loves that.
