if we comment link in html code, does crawler read that link

Hello All,

I have one Doubt, can any one clarify this.

Two months back i have given a link add in high traffic & PR7 site homepage for 1month.
After 1month completed they have commented the link in html page instead of removing it. So in homepage of that site my link is not appearing now.
But daily i am getting some traffic from that site. How it is possible???

And is there any weight to comment link in html page instead of removing ?

If you have link on page that is not restricted by robots.txt and not supported by nofollow then your link is easily crawlable by search engines.

What you think about HTML code ?

As i know till now about all websites are appearing online due to HTML.

HTML codes will crawl easily by bots. Bots will avoid java script and other script only.

yes crawler has no issue with html codes. I dont know about java scripts
