Do Follow/No Follow are commands given in the HTML page or the Robot.txt of the website designed specifically for web crawlers in order to have control on allowing or disallowing spiders to web page or link. Do follow is an attribute for directing search engines to follow a particular web page or link. No Follow on the other head is an attribute for directing search engines to not furthermore follow a particular web page or link. Mostly, No Follow command tag is helpful for spam posts or comments. Allowing bloggers or webmasters to lessen their website link juice to be passed to the links provided by spam posters.

Search Engine Spiders/Web Crawlers don't follow the ones that has a rel of nofollow... they default to follow the rest links... the ones that don't specify "nofollow" Nofollow are for not crawling a link by search engine. Dofollow allow search engine to crawl links. DoFollow links pass the link juice of the page that links to your page, and your PR increases, if the page that it's linking have some quality.

In the other hand, NoFollow links don't pass this linkjuice, they're just crawled by the search engines.
