Top 3 ppc results still factor into natural serps?

At one point I was under the impression that certain se's, Yahoo's, Overture in particular used to factor in the top 3 ppc spots when generating natural results.
In other words, if you held a top 3 ppc spot with Overture, at a certain time of the month, for certain term, that was factored into your rank in the natural results.
Is this still true, (if it ever was) and if so, what engines and their ppc counterparts still do this?

Thanks
Frank

not really true.

they are too hard to align and the search engines would lose ALL credibility if they did that.

Okay, I remember now what it was.
The top 3 ppc results in Overture used to be reported to partner se's.
I dont remember what effect that had in those partner engines if you got a boost in their natural results or if you showed up in the partner sponsored results.
So, is that still going on?

Does Google do this with any of its ppc models?

Thanks
Frank

Yes, Google powers AOL Search, for instance. The "Sponsored Links" are Google AdWords and the "Matching Sites" are from Google's "free listings".

the PPC listings do not feed into the organic ranking relevancy algorithms. with that being said large ad spenders are also likely to get better customer service on the organic ranking stuff.

I think if you spend over $6,000 a month Google will give you an "engineers consultation" to help you with any ranking problems you may have.
