Both plugins and manually i recommend doing to make sure your blog is more SEO friendly. There is a blog post that i think has just about all the SEO tips that i would of never known ever at this link. http://www.seodesignsolutions.com/bl...ordpress-blog/

The best tip I can give is to set your pages to end in .html. This is a much better looking url and the search engines seem to show a little more favor towards them.

Other than SEO plugin, you can have a good robots.txt file. Here can you find a example of what should be placed in robots.txt for wordpress:

Be careful with "free" plug ins. Remember nothing is free. Any time you let a free plug in on your site, you are giving them access to all of your content. You would be surprised at how many people are dropping outbound links on your site...
