Do Outbound Links Matter for SEO?

Hello V7N,

I was wondering if placing outbound links to related websites on the pages of my website help or harm my SEO Campaign?

The links I would be linking to would be all quality and well established websites seen reputable in Google. Website's such as Wikipedia & EzineArticles.

Any Advice on if outbound links matter for SEO?

In my personal opinion, linking out to authority sites to qualify a point you are making will actually benefit your site in multiple ways. I wrote about this a while back.

Thanks for this post this was a great help. I just have one more question. Would using my keywords as anchor to the websites have an effect?

The search engines know if the site is related or not, so I would concern myself more with my visitors understanding the purpose of the link.

Interesting stuff Cricket-under that assumption than link exchanges become even more important. It's hard to stick to legit sites for links, but it does seem to be worth the effort right now.

Reciprocal linking is NOT becoming more important. In fact, too many which are reciprocal in nature can create problems for you. Those links that you receive naturally are far more important than an other style of links.

It's ok if you put reciprocal link to related sites but you must also limit it as more outbound link can also harm your site.

Hi,
Not only inbound links is important for seo but also we need outbound links.The outbound link is considered as your vote to web.For example:If you link to great site,your site will get some what of higher value.If you write an article for having PR10 it considered as excellent article according to seo.
