MSN Beta Released

MSN launched the Beta as part of the New Year. The main search results are showing similiar to the beta, but looks like a hybrid between the beta and current results. I hope is resolves closer to the beta results as the launch completes. Most SEO are happy with the results. MSN did a good job with the engine, looks like there is another big player in the search engine game. Eric Bland

Looks like they are still using Yahoo results to me. The results are certainly different than their Beta version.

For my #1 keyphrase, MSN SERPs are almost exactly the same as Y!, and very different from MSN.b.

I guess they were doing some testing the other night. For a short time the engine results were showing the beta results. They removed the beta link at the same time. I thought they were releasing the engine, but it looks as though it is not official yet. The results are showing a variation of the old results. The beta has better results. Looks like things are getting close to launch.

The new MSN beta is really really frightening. For years now I have been running a movie website, UKHotMovies.com, on which I have never ever - not once - mentioned by name.

Now, when you do a search for my name, it comes up as the third site!

How on earth did they find the linkage?

Like I said, my name has never ever been mentioned on a single page of the site.

Having racked my brains for half an hour, all I can think is they got the name from the registrant details for the domain name. But why would they do that? And why has that detail been given such significance that all the hundreds of other times my name is mentioned online come after the listing for the movie site?

Not really bothered about this as I'm rather proud of UKHotMovies.com, but just wanted to see what the SEO experts had to say out of curiousity.
