"cinema releases" Number 1 on Google (9 on MSN) but I only get about 1000 visitors a month from that! I focus more on content articles being in the top 10.

I think he knew that. I've got just about 35 first page entries on google for various keywords and in all about 500 on the others.Change your content weekly and try a news page. Submit to Directories www.pheedster.com/directories.php will keep you amused for hours, if not weeks and years!

I rank #1 on Yahoo for my target keyword (out of 12,300,000 results) and #8 on Google, #2 on MSN...brings in limited traffic, but GOOD sales because I did a lot of keyword targeting research.

I wish I had a "main keyword". I have a dozen or so.

They range from #1 to #7 on G.

#1 - #15 on Y.

MSN they're almost all #1, #2 or #3.

i rank well on msn only because my site is so new.

but every day i have been going up.
#2 on health store out of 335,607,239
#9 for health food store out of 247,172,826

my ranking should go up tomorrow though becuase i rewrote the title and mainpage text. (msn has been updating once a day for me)

One of my sites just jumped to #1 on MSN for a term with 257,053,154 results. The same site is also #3 for a term with 266,757,485 results. Overture shows these terms with 50,446 and 202,462 searches in March but I'm only seeing around 200 visitors a day from MSN.

I don't really care. I rank well and get from Google alone 10000+ hits/month for more than 100 keywords and some of them are real nice page 1 in searches that I only found out because of checking my stats. like 'Amsterdam info' for example. I do have a page with plain information about my town and most of the competition are commercial tourist busyness sites with only advertisments but they all spend tons to get there and I never even bothered about getting one single link to that page. SEO is like money, that harder you wish and work to have it, the more you are driving it away from you yourself, Murphy's law will jump in somewhere.
