Expired domain won't get indexed in google

last year i purchased the expired domain westcoastsurfing.com . since then i have not been able to get it indexed in google.

i have enough links up, and the other search engines recognize it, but not google. i have even written a re-inclusion request to google (which i'm waiting to hear back from) ... does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get the site back into google? maybe i'll just buy a new domain name.

I bought a deleted domain a while back, slowly built up a few thousand links to it, it got a PR6, but was not in the google index!

I think Google recognizes when a domain has been expired, or has suddenly updated - just my 2 cents.

I can only find one link to westcoastsurfing.com and its from a forum trying to sell the domain name - MSN show it - all the other SE's show no links.. Google does not index sites without links - you need more.

thanks birdie... linking in progress.... usually i can get a page indexed in under a week, which is why i was worried... (but you're right...i haven't spent too much time linking yet....time is key)

It is very strange because the page is life. However, I did a server status check of westcoastsurfing.com in this server checker tool: http://www.seoconsultants.com/tools/headers.asp and it is not returning any answer. Normally, this tool should return a HTTP status code 200 to indicate that the page has been found. Maybe there is a problem with your .htaccess file that is preventing search engines to index your page. I'm not really familiar with how the .htaccess file works, but the fact that the server checker tool is not returning any status for your page tells me that something in your web hosting set up may be causing the problem. Just my guess...

I did the server header check up again, and this time I'm getting the 200 code, so the problem I described in my previous post doesn't really apply any more. Hope you find the answer...

followup:

just hours after i got that email from google it looks like they've re-included my site into their index...yeah!

when i look at the cached snapshot of westcoastsurfing.com, it shows the old re-direct page that i used to use a while back... hopefully googlebot will come back shortly and re-index the new site.

i just wanted to let you all know that the 're-inclusion request' with google seems to be working .

Update:

ok, this is really weird...i've never seen this before.

since google has responded to me, and re-entered my domain back in their index, it shows a cached snapshot of the page i had on there a while back. it's an old re-direct page that i had to my surf blog, but it says it was cached back in 1969 (cache:www.westcoastsurfing.com - you have to hit the stop button before it redirects you)

was the internet even up in 69? i doubt it.
