Keyword Research Tool - Which one is best?
Hi,
Can anyone please share a good keyword research tool? If it is free then great. Personally I believe that google keyword external tool is not accurate.
(I get around 4000 visitors per month from a general keyword, for that keyword, keyword external reports under 100 searches per month)
I think it is very important to know the search number.
Please advise.
Thanks

When you use Google keyword research tool you should always do exact instead of broad. This is something I see people doing regular.

I like market samurai the best, but the free google tool is generally good enough for most of my research.
MS has a free trial usually

I think you might try free keyword service from wordtracker. It would generate more accurate results because it combines search volumes from most top search engines.
all the best,

Google keyword research tool will be the best solution. Then you can go on with https://adwords.google.com/select/Ad...ingPreviewTool. By our setting, It shows the ranking of keywords in region wise. Then for finding multiple keywords use Rank Checker from SEO Book toolbar.

I think Maruti Samurai is best for this. I have personally used it and the results are quite accurate.

As one of the first posters in this forum said, market samurai is definitely the best. Not only does it do keyword research though, but it has about 7 or 8 other tools within the program that will really help you. I use their rank checker tool often, which shows you where you rank for specific keywords (or where other people rank). Great tool, totally agree.
I also use the Wealthy Affiliate keyword research tool as I am a member there, but ever since I picked up market samurai I have been using that pretty much every day.

Thanks all,
I know google keyword tool is the best free keyword research tool but sometimes it doesn't give accurate results. I don't know about Market Samurai and Paid Wordtracker but free Wordtracker is not worth trying. For me it never give any near to accurate result.
I can go for a paid version if it is worth the money.

Google adwords is the best one for keyword selection.
It's a collection of end users web searches.
Whatever so you must analyze yourself.

How would we know whether results are accurate or not?
I wonder, if someone doesn't say what they have used, how can we trust a comment that says "such and such is best."
I used the paid version of Trellian's keyword discovery tool for a couple of years. It was excellent, though not necessarily the most user friendly software I ever used. But I liked it. I had a couple of national clients during that period and the KEI metric was useful and impressive. I stopped using it when Google's external tool became available since I was most interested in Google's data.
I keep thinking I would like to invest in another program/subscription that would give me that and the ability to run position reports. I have most weaned my clients from expecting those. I have trained them to look at Google Analytics and measure their site's success by traffic.
As often as I can, I get my clients to invest in at least a small Adwords campaign. I think that allows me to get the most accurate numbers I will get on keyword data. It just takes a month to see them. ;|

Why do you think that? Can you see that it isn't really helpful if you don't take the time to really tell us why you like them.

The old Overture tool was outstanding, With it one could search for a specific word or phrase, and get a report of all broad matches showing the number of searches for each match that occured during the past 30 days, the number of parties bidding on each, the top three max. bids, and a link to a complete bid listing.
After Yahoo bought Overture, they stopped updating this data.
