Sorry, but I see no facts presented to substantiate any claim the reciprocal linking is 100% useless. I will agree that excessive reciprocal linking with the intent of manipulating rankings or PageRank can cause problems.

inbound is much better outbound is just a proof that you have thrown information or you have an additional information related to that outbound links or a particular sites.
