Thumbnails in Search Results

Like next to each listing. What do you guys think about them? Are they helpful, annoying, etc? Does it entice you to click on the link more or less do you think?

I don't like them. And I especially don't like a mouse-over thumbnail.

I don't like them since they slow down page loads and when they are out of date with the site - don't like surprises. Probably you will have to use a lot of bandwidth to keep them up to date. People might not like you costantly downloading their site to keep it in sync.

yeah, thumbnails on a search page puts lots of distraction, slows down the page.

But if you can show thumbnails for sponsored listings like Anthony is doing it in his directory http://www.anthonyparsons.com/ , it can look good or even like Alexa, thubnails for initial few listings.
