Back links and content are best in SEO
Hello,
I don't know about your ideas but I think back links are more important than content in SEO. I mean, I create a new page or blog page, it will not be indexed easily.
when I submit these new pages to social bookmarking sites, they are indexed very fast.
So, content is for readers to come back to your site and back links are to get visitors to come to your site the first time.
For me, back links are more important than content because without getting your site indexed, how to make visitors come back?
Your idea is appreciated.
Thanks.

Hey Dude,
Yeah, Back link and Unique Content just like fuel in SEO without them you can't rank well, I can say that because without content you can't get that much important to your website by search engine.

If the content is not well your site's bounce rate will be high, if there are no backlinks your site's traffic will be less. So both are necessary.

Content and good method in linkbuilding are both indespensable. I am very confident with content though and the reason for this is clear, apart from the unique content that you post, if you place content as often as you could there is much likelihood that spiders will be crawling to your website and with this your pages will be surely indexed. I have done this on my site, I just make contents without first getting enough backlinks on it and in just a matter of 2 months I luckily had more than 15,000 visits and more than 20,000 pageviews ( organic and bots). I just do it as a test attempt and I luckily made it. Even if you look at my site you can see that there are only less than 300 human visitors but find out its PR. As an advise, make content. It may not be the content which could amaze the human eyes but they seem to be yummy meat for the spiders.

My content gets indexed without building backlinks.

Have you ever seen a rubbish-content site at the top of serps?
In any event, what would be the point of a high-serps high-traffic site where visitors leave quickly?

I respectfully disagree that links are more important than content. They compliment each other, and practically cannot "be" on their own.
Let me explain this.
If you have great content, but not doing a great job promoting the site and get no links, your content will not be seen by anybody and will just sit there, like a lonely wolf.
On the other hand, if you have plenty of links and rank higher on search engines (which is rather common, but short lived), you will get visitors but they will hit the "Back" button faster than you can say "Link!".
If you're building sites the right way, you will have BOTH great content and great links that compliment each other and bring you a lot of visitors, lower bounce rate and higher conversion rate. Let's face it - it's what we all want and what ultimately brings in the cash.

In my own experiences, it is to hard to succeed only with one channel like page contents or backlink. You need to target right keywords for your sites and using them in building your pages, updating your pages and building backlinks.
Have a nice day,

They both are important for SEO. If you have good content you will get good response from Google and people will visit your site more. If you have good back links you will get good ranking and high PR.

I agree, if the content is not compelling it will be difficult to get quality links.

Yes, but links are not essential. Some successful sites have no incoming links worth mentioning.
But could anybody please show us a successful site that has no useful content?

Though back-links give you results.
My first priority is always content.
Backlinks will give you traffic, but your bounce rate and your hold of target audiences will eventually decline when your content is rubbish.
Good to start with good content as it acts as a strong foundation.
Back-linking should be the next big priority if you wish to monetize your site. (obviously)

Have to disagree with the "will eventually decline"!
People become obsessed with the quantity of traffic, and ignore quality. If you really think things through, this can actually harm you by making it impossible to identify the truly desirable visitors.

You are right man. So I believe you are saying that we won't get meaningful traffic in the first place to eventually lose them, right?

Errr... No. I am suggesting it is better to have 1 targetted visitor, than 1 targetted visitor plus 5 random visitors who just bounce off your site without any action.
