Thumbs down HandyTraffic

I probably don't need to warn people here off of them, but I was dumb enough to waste a little money on them recently, so I thought I'd mention my experience with them. I paid $27 for 5000 "unique" visitors. I figured that even if it was worthless, I would only lose $27.

Well, the traffic I've gotten from them has been totally worthless, so at least it was cheap. My average visitor spends about 3 minutes on the site, whereas all of the HandyTraffic visitors I've gotten have stayed less than 1 second.

So lesson learned, fortunately this one was cheap compared to some others. I just would highly recommend staying away from them if you're ever considering it.

Many SEO are considerd con artists. $5.40 CPM is too much for a ROI from such a product anyway.

Ticket #556

Ticket ID: 556
Date: 10/11/05 13:32
Category: Traffic Flow
Subject: Visitors Not Browsing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Doug Siebert Added on 10/11/05 13:32
I am a little concerned. I have been carefully watching my traffic logs and not a single redirected user (out of 152 thus far) has navigated on my site. The web log shows them "arriving" but never clicking anything, which is dissappointing to me as almost everyone else that comes to my site will at least browse one page. I am curious as to where I can witness how the users are being redirected. If you would be so kind, please provide me with the URL to a place where I will be able to view my campaign in action and get redirected myself, just to have a better idea of how it works and how I might be able to get visitors interested in browsing my site. Thank you for your time!

Dear Customer,

Please note that sales (or interest) on a website will depend on many factors including the website product, content, load time, layout, product pricing, presentation, service and more factors.

We will provide the service of sending visitors to your website, your job is to generate these visitors into customers and we'll do our best to achieve that. Remember, web traffic does mirror a 'billboard' ad. We recommend (if possible) that you generate a special ad page for your web traffic campaign (instead of sending them to your websites main page) that may include a super special, an outstanding product or top seller, weekly special or one time offer. Consider a web traffic campaign like a newspaper or billboard ad when you drive by on the highway, you have to get them interested to stay and make that purchase within seconds.

We sell 'redirected visitors' therefore the domains we own simply redirect people to our customers and all our resellers customers websites. If we were to send you a redirect domain you would be redirected to all our customers (and resellers customers) websites for that particular target campaign. We would not want any competing company to obtain our client lists in danger of spamming them or trying to obtain competitive sales. We keep all our customers purchases confidential and we do not want anyone to obtain any of our domains or customer lists to contact them with spam or to see who their competitors are. Therefore, we cannot show you a redirecting domain because you will be redirected to our customers websites and that is strictly confidential information. If you want to see a sample of how our technology works you may visit "http://www.handytechnology.com" which is one of our domain names; it actually redirects traffic to our website so we can show it.

Best Regards,

Antony Clark

I'm afraid that in your refusal to offer proof of your method of redirection that you have only furthered my suspicions. As a paying customer I should have a right to witness where my traffic is coming from, especially when it would appear that no one is actually "seeing" my page at all. If you really have a legitimate referral system, you should have no problem allowing me to confirm that my page is being displaying in the appropriate environment. I'm sure you would agree (seeing as you mention it so many times in your sales pitches) that it is extremely easily hide multiple pages in frames (which could explain why you maintain such a strict NO POPUP and NO SOUND policy) and there would be no way for your loyal paying customers to know. I find it rather strange that hundreds of people will visit a site and not a single one would browse. I'm not talking about sales here, I'm strictly speaking page views. Especially since all of my other SEO traffic and other "targeted" traffic as you call it, will 90% of the time generate at least 2 page views. So please, bury my suspicions and prove that you have an honest referral system. If you can not offer any such proof or my campaign continues in the manner it has been (even after I just changed the URL to a catchy, fast-loading page advertising a popular special), then immediately cancel my subscription and refund any unpaid portion and I will happily go my separate way. I look forward to you proving me wrong,

Thanks for your time!

Doug

Hello,

As stated in the previous reply, each of our domain names redirects to more than a website: showing one of our domain names would show also our customers.
I sent you a domain name that actually redirects to our website so that you can check how the redirection technology works.
If you feel that this type of traffic doesn't bring the best results (it may happen: not all the advertising methods are perfect for any website) we can stop the campaign here and issue a refund for the remaining visitors. While waiting for a response I paused your campaign.

Best Regards,

Antony Clark

How many customers will you lose before realizing what it is you are doing wrong? Or, is it that if you did this one thing right, you would be in danger of losing them all?

My credit card has been reissued as I have done a little research on "Handy Traffic" and have read many interesting warnings that said it is in fact a scam, no one ever received a legit visitor through the bot-like and shady referral system, none of the vistors would be targeted even if it was legit, and to simply never use it and warn all you know about it. It all makes sense to me now, and I am ashamed to have put such faith in you.

So unfortunately I will have to ask you to process the refund in the form of a check or money order made payable to:

Pappy Wishbone's
P.O. Box 366
Lakehead, CA 96051

Thanks once again for your time,

yes

I came to the same conclusion. I only wish I had googled them before paying, instead of after watching the traffic. =(

I thought they might not know that they were pawning off bad traffic, but I get the idea now that they have been warned many times.

I caught it early on (600 out of 5000 hits) I hope I get a refund for the majority of the purchase.

It is too bad, I was giddy at the idea of getting hordes decent quality traffic for $0.006 a shot.

My support ticket log is much like the one above. I'm going to hold off on posting it until I see how they handle my request for a refund or my invitation to have them watch the traffic with me.

Yay Please send me PopUp, Popunder, 404, and proxied hits.. and tell you what.. I will even pay you to do it.. how does that sound?

All those traffic scams are garbage.. Increase the traffic yourself by getting good ranking in engines by generating content rich pages and never duplicate.

The engines will index and you will see some great results.

Go to yahoo and put in: increase traffic

Thats me sitting there at #1

=)

Usually it's not robots.

The most common way is to put your site in IFRAME with zero width and height on some porno galery.

For pornosites the normal traffic is about 10 thousand uniques a day. And those guys sell that traffic via IFRAMEs.

So your trafic will look like legit trafic. All 10 thousands request will be from different IPs but as you noticed nobody will see your page.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The bottom line. Never buy trafic. You will never get anything from it.

Gevog, the traffic was even worse than that, none of the pages elements or graphics are loaded -- I think it is a bot rather than frames.

Techniner, well done. How many hits does that keyword generate for you?
