It's not all about high or low PR back links and anchor text, and Do/NoFollow, folks.

Some of you should read this blog post below.
How To Use Twitter for SEO
Quote:
Links Tweeted on Twitter Matter for SEO
It’s official. Google and Bing include social signals – namely, links that get tweeted on Twitter – when determining rankings in their search results. This was confirmed by Danny Sullivan in his December 1, 2010 post on Search Engine Land, and it was likely a factor for a while before that.
To put this new factor in perspective, Google uses hundreds of signals to determine how it should rank a website. These include inbound links to the site, the title tag of a web page, and site speed.
Getting people to link to your site is really all about....

Just integrate twitter tweet and re-tweet button in your site/blog, this is so simple.
Another thing you need traffic for this.
If your site doesn't have much traffic then try to build a decent amount of twitter follower.

Hi ..
Twitter is the Best one to get good traffic and back links.
You can increase high traffic if you have regular and good followers. I mean more followers.
They will follow regularly and you will get more visits to your website. And not only that, if they do re-tweet to your tweets, You will get more back links to your site using your followers re-tweets .

Well, this is not official information and I personally don't think that retweeting have anything to do with higher SERP, however tweets appear in "latest" results and definitely can bring more traffic.

Barely any... haha twitter is a garbage site with a bunch of garbage links. Search engines put barely ANY juice on the links coming from it. (from an SEO perspective; and also a social networking perspective, twitter is for ding bats that can't read more than 2 sentences, you will never get the same quality traffic from twitter or facebook, than you do regular search engines.) That's a fact.
You can say you got 50k traffic from twitter or facebook, but if they bounce off your site or don't buy anything then what's the point? I consider them to be poor traffic in that scenario. When people find a site in a search engine its because they are looking for that topic... people on twitter are ping pong balls. (My comments are from personal traffic studies on various eCommerce web sites and blogs.)

As for me the best way is first to be helpful to people and provide instant responding to them and provide meaningful information to them. And this way by helpful nature and by the continuous discussion , attract them to visit the site. And provide such meaningful and unique content every time that they allow to click on our link for the further read. So this is the way to get the more benefit or backlinks through any social network and from twitter also.

Twitter gives only nofollow backlinks but if you engage your website's audience through twitter it can give you quality traffic...

Yes, Twitter is nofollow.
Moreover, Google and Bing have access to Twitter's data, and they do use it in their algorithm.
Every retweet is like a vote, the more votes you have, the more valuable your page will become. It kind works "similar" to a backlink, but backlinks have more weight, for now. In the near future, it will be the opposite.

I agree with you...
I think Google+ can be more helpful than twitter for getting good ranking in Google SERPs...

None of that social BS helps with real SEO or SERPS. If you look at the mechanics of the links and where they are it would be pretty obvious.. I'll go grab a PR 2 backlink, you go get 500,000 re-tweets and google +1's and we'll see who ranks higher

A little dated, yes but not hear say:

Twitter and Bing announced that they have extended their deal that allows Bing to tap into Twitter’s information in a cutesy exchange on Twitter itself. As for Google, which Twitter’s been on the outs with since July, Twitter says there’s no similar happy news to report.

Congrats if that's really helping you with SEO But unless your a media news outlet, it's not. Everything Danny boy says there is hearsay, and from the way it's worded, it sounds like bing is just using twitter to see which topics are trending from a regular marketing perspective, not really so much SEO.
*on a side note, the reason google isn't getting involved is because they know how garbage twitter is. Twitter offers no real information, just a bunch of ignorant people typing 50 characters and hitting enter or a business doing the same thing. Half of the text is in gibberish and shortened text. Ex: lol, lmfao, omg
"Lolz hav 2 c u tom" < No real content, means no real SEO

Sorry to say, that isn't correct. It has more influence than you realize.
Proof is in the pudding.
I have a web site that is in a very competitive field. I don't have 1 single backlink whatsoever. All I have is Facebook and Twitter buttons, and I went from page 20 to the front page position #4. I did it all with Twitter tweets and Facebook likes. As my likes and tweets went up, so did I.
