thanks for the link, i'll have a good gander after posting htis.

Leigh, sorry if i wasnt clear first time round.

When I say "include", i mean template......lets face it , any "include", be it a front page include, Apache SSI include , PHP include, whatever, its all the same source code when it comes out.

I think you and I are splitting hairs at the point where you have "dynamic content" within an incldue...this isnt what i mean.

Look at DMOZ for example. Do you think under any "link voting system" chefmoz.org | musicmoz.org | open-site.org should get 100,000's of votes? It's all under the same domain and saying the same thing.

or look at the template on this forum http://www.webmasterworld.com/active.htm

control panel, site search, glossary, subscribe, library, help, recent posts

these links are on every page, yet the forum discusses a wide range of topics, very focuses topics, each of which could deserve their own link in DMOZ. As for the template? Same goes for the bottom of the page.....

If we "themed" the site then yes, these nav bars are of equal value to every page, but IMO they add no value to the individual pages.

Just as with the script above that searches for phrases, should a site search for "terms of service" bring up any random page from the site? IMO it should bring up the home page.

//added edit

and 'course, since the TOS at the foot of the page is a link, tht should also be returned, above the home page

PHP here too, with CURL grabbing the pages.

How do you parse the pages, split by tag? are you going to take into account alt/title text.

wouldnt mind knowing what sort of functionalities you hope to add.

Also some other issues

1. how are you stripping non alphanumerics, where and why
2. how to deal with unicode
3. broken tags
4. anything else you want to mention about it

It deals with just about everything, Shaun has been over a year developing it, enhancing it, etc.

BTW, the one thing I find that very few SEO's realize is that broken html is an awesome tool

OK, I must be missing something then?

I see a link to a page that counts word frequencies, and another page that outputs info from overtures' "term suggestion tool".

Keep playing with it

But, like I said, it is far from complete at this point. In 2-3 weeks it should be a lot further along.
