Paid inclusions?

i had heard somewhere that 1 link back from Yahoo directory would be worth more then 100 links from different small website.. is that true? Will the ranking go up in SE if a few top directories link to my website or if i have a few hundred links from small websites?

yes a link back from Y will help
dont know if it is equivalent to 100 links frm small website (depending wat u mean by small website)
be careful frm which directory u link frm......as G has penalised sum well ranking diretories........best way is to check whether the directory is cached regularly by G.

For that you have to download the Google tool bar link is http://toolbar.google.com/?promo=mor-tb-en

Install it and there is one option for page info which symbolize by (i) in the drop down you will find the cache option to the particular web page...

Another easy method is type cache:www.websitedomain.net in the Google search bar then you will get the cache date and time of that particular website..

Hope this would work for you~ if not feel free to ask.
