My Constant SEO Troubles

Hi - whenever I think I kinda understand some SEO things I find myself understanding that I know nothing at all lol. I have an ALF fan site - as a hobby, just for fun. My main keyword is "ALF" and I just can't get my site to show up anywhere near the first page - at one time I was at page 5 but I just keep slipping farther and farther down. I tried some new tags the other day and Google just totally hates them I think. I was hoping that some of you could look at my site and my tags and possibly give me a few pointers on things I could do to improve my search engine rankings (mainly Google - I'm not too bad in Yahoo and a few others) for the keywords "ALF" and "ALF DVD" - thanks in advance, I really appreciate any advice you can offer me.

I already know a big thing is link building and I've been doing a ton of that and will continue to - my site gets about 300 unique visits a day...there are many links, but most of them are from small sites (ALF doesn't seem to be an extremely popular subject). I just feel that maybe I could be doing more outside of the link-building area to help my rankings.

Keep submitting your site to search engines, keep link building, keep working at getting your site more popular.

Remember SEO is not the only advertising thing you can use to get customers. Look around the web for similar sites maybe forums and post your links to there or link exchange.

http://www.alftv.net/.............r u using some redirecting code in ur site, the site not workin, keeps givin me some redirection error.....maybe there is a prob with my browser.

I gone through meta tags and find that the keywords arrangement is not good.
for example you told that u want to get ranking on ALF DVD then where this keyword in title ....you should give priority to the keywords
frst priority should be on TITLE and then on descripton and then else any where like u can use ATL.

You should use good keyword enrich content

yes are right web gazelle....can u provide me the list of free directories of UK...right now i am manually finding the directories on search engine and checking each one...so its very time taking process and is list available is net ...if any one about such please let me know...thanks

*Your Home Page content are not optimized, and your hosmepage is poor of content.

*You have to build more links to your website by submiting your site to directories and non reciprocal site. http://www.5thage.com/List-of-Directories.html

*Only Exchange links with sites that have a high page rank 4 and 5

*When exchanging links Traget for you main keywords you want to get top postion in (ALF) (ALF DVD) .... If you build 50 Links targeting only for ALF and another 50 links For (ALF DVD) you will get in top position !

*Your repeting your keyword (alf) in your meta keywords more than 10 times, some serch engines cosider that spamming and you are !

*Add more optimized contents to your website.

* Fix you meta tags >>> Title, keywords and description.
* Build your link popularity with targeted keywords.
* Add more Contents to your website and optimize them.

I would take this even further and say only exchange links with sites that have relevant content.
