High ranked sites with no onpage keywords
Does anyone have any examples of high ranked sites for pretty competitive keywords that are in those positions due to link building and have little or no on page optimization?

Maybe Amazon.. They get good ranking just because they are Amazon.

Not just because they are Amazon. They really don't get good positions in the natural results. PPC who knows
Results 1 - 10 of about 384,000 linking to
http://www.amazon.com
.

Yahoo is ranked for the keyword "exit" - Disney is #2. Obviously because of the adult sites and their anchor text.

Follow the rankings around Christmas time. Amazon is everywhere.
