Link Submission Services – Scams?

Has anyone used a link submission service like EngineSeeker or MegaWebPromotion?

On the one hand they all seem a little bit like a scam, but then again if it generates positive results it may be worth the nominal monthly fee.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I personally prefer to submit my websites myself (or have an employee do it). Most link submission services do the link submission in an automated fashion that bears little or no results.

yes you are right al2six,

Rather then submitting the site into search engines any one should submit the website into possible number of directories.

All you need is a link from a page that is indexed, and you're site will be indexed (assuming it is crawlable).

megawebpromotion and bizwebpromotion are scams

I can personally vouch for the fact that megawebpromotion(also operating under the name bizwebpromotion) are indeed scams. I did pay to utilize their services and did receive emails that my site has been submitted to numerous directories and other search engines. Proof could not be provided to me when I asked about the pop up services or banner marketing. Instead I was faced stalling tactics of avoidance and futher bogus information by diving into deeper research on their services, and has thus proved nothing I paid for was actually performed. Please do your research on companies before outsourcing work, all in all I was able to get back part of my money because I threatened legal action. They have a nice looking website which is very misleading to unsuspecting viewers. I found it's also just a 1 man operation out of Canada, doing a domain check will reveal the register is located in the US though. Take notice they do not list a phone number, why would you deal with a company that can't even provide that? I think I drove my point across plenty, if you want to take the risk - it's your lost money. Even though the post topic is outdated, I feel everyone needs to know what this company is all about regardless as their website is still active. Take the advice of the previous posters - add meta tags and submit yourself, there is no need to pay for a company to do this for you.

Regards.

I've been usin digixmas to submit my site to directories and think it's the best thing since sliced bread. I've been submitting to only about to 100 directories per week for about the last month and am starting to see results. Does anyone know of more programs like this one?

Yes, automated submissions free or paid listings are not good in terms of link building. Some of them are not reliable 'coz you never know whether your site is linked or put in proper category. I just do it manually link exchange with related sites and submit to directories.....

I guess I should have been more clear. Not automatic directory submission because I agree they are a waste of time.

I mean automatically exchanging links, articles and blog post with other site owners.

I prefer paying for people to pay for submissions. I never paid for a company to do that for me.

I also use the DigiXMAS tool and have been quite happy with it. Their free version is definitely worth checking out to get a feel for it.

I've gone ahead and purchased a full license too for a couple of my sites. I've been pleased with the results.

Its better to hand submit to the search engines. If you don't have the time make sure your find a site that will hand submit.
