Ever since my site had weeks of downtime, my site plummeted. I've been getting a lot less traffic and not any where near as much money as I was.
I only get about 2% of traffic from SE's. How can I raise this? I used to do so good in ranking for related stuff for my site. How do I know if I've been filtered out for something?
On Google, for example, if you search for Must Have Software, I'm no where to be found. I used to rank #1 for this, without any SEO or anything done to my site. I return 24000 pages of results in Google for my site. I have a fair number of links, etc...
Could it be bacuse I don't update the site as much as I used to? Maybe now is a good time to move to musthavesoftware.com? Would the move be OK with the redirect and getting so many links for a new domain?
I really dunno right now. What are my options guys?
Yah. I mean my traffic isn't that bad, but compared to what it was before, it is. I get about 400 uniques per day now, and that's stretching it. A mere like 30 cents on adsense too. I used to get about 2000 uniques per day with $2-10 per day on adsense.
I wouldn't be that mad about it except, this site funds all my others, I've spent so much time on it, it has a lot of content, and its 2, almost 3 years old.
Edit: Might not sound like a lot, but for those of you who know my age, it's good.
John, I was thinking that too, but I had those months in advance, before the downtime, and all was well. It happened after the downtime, everything dropped. At first I thought my site was getting filtered out, since it came back online after about a month, maybe se's thought it was new and all the links pointing to it etc...
Is there a way I can test without the casino links, but still keeping them up? Should I put an identical copy of my site on musthavesoftware.com without the casino links?
I dunno if this'll help, but I noticed there were like 500 spam users on my phpBB so I removed the website field from the memberlist, that way I won't have to worry about deleting members
