How about no follow automatically get's added to all links in posts until the contest ends!!! Then all the contest spam won't help anyone!!

That's OK with me - my V-E links are informational for people in this thread following the contest. But with 500,000 plus results already, I kinda doubt a few links from here is going to really make a difference anyway.

Bro, that page was empty when you added that anchored link, what kind of information is so important for our members on that page? The fact that you write on there that information is coming soon? The only informational thing about that link was your anchor text for the searchbots. And of all people, you are one of the most aware of the value of every single link with the wanted anchor text.

Well, The Hulk is getting PR 8 links and hundreds of backlinks left right and center. A link on a forum thread is absolutely nothing ...

For me the link he gave was valuable and now I know that I will check back in a day or two.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.

Well. If anyone kept a track record of the placements during the contest, that would be interesting to study (I did not keep any). Also, a summary of methods used would be interesting.
