I am in no way a seo expert but I hope to give this my best go

I also am going to not spend 1 dime on a link and just see what happens.

I have a question though... do we have to publicly reveal what sites are ours? Like can I reveal to you john but keep the registration anon until the contests is over?

John, maybe that should be a rule? $0 budget. I mean, a person could just spend $50 or $100 and buy a bunch of links and win.

Unless, of course, that's the point - to see what works best.

Then there is the messy possibility of cheating. If there are no rules, there is no cheating, I suppose.

I guess it depends on what the purpose of the contest is.

I personally believe if someone wants to spend money, let them. I actually do believe that skill will trump overall, so I wouldn't mind someone having a financial advantage. As long as the one who does it, tells us where he bought the links, for how much, and all that good stuff (no secrets)

Kind of hard to implement that rule, too. If somebody was in the lead, another competitor could buy links in that person's name to disqualify them. If they wanna spend money, fine. I doubt they will, though. I don't recall anybody spending money in the NU contest.

First U will start date Jan 15, 2006.

Why ??, For marketing.... ur forums or U really Know google will update in the mid of JAN

2nd one U had saying that "We are not specifying the type of link - that's entirely at your discretion"

U mean U wants Ur links in ur anothers Page which only advertising for your sites on Nigritude Ultramarine which u will gave us ??

What will the role ODP ? Have U will give the + points, whose participate listed your specific KW in DMOZ. ?? ( Hope, thats not count )

and I see U also listed in 5th postion in http://www.nigritudeultramarines.com/ coz U spread that word "nigritude ultramarine" ????

A term will be released on January 15th similiar (but not the same as nigratude ultramarine) and it will be from a clean slate

If you can get links in ODP I do not see how they could do anything, but help you.

Winners are chosen by whoever have the rankings on the google search for the term on May 15th However.

That was the first SEO contest (or first real BIG one that is) which was run by somebody other than John Scott that he participated in

Can i just say i will not be putting any cash into this just time i cant stand people that buy say 100,000,000 backlinks for the year i really dont see the point also i would like to say

BACKLINKS ISNT EVERTHING infact i dont even see backlinks in the top ten for of site SEO i dont have many infact i have well less than Dell but im making them panic hehe
