Spaces, Hyphens, Undescores
Which is better for use in filenames. I have a long name for a file, and I want to know which is better for getting it indexed.
Much thanks in advance for your input on this.

Hyphens...
Also easier on the human eye.

And for SEO.
Best: hyphens
Not as good: underscores
Terrible: spaces
Tacky: underwears

Hyphens are the only things that work but the weight is insignificant.

For Google, but not Yahoo. I see a real benefit from using hyphens in Yahoo, but not enough of one to go changing the file names of pages that are already indexed.

Even in Google, I think there is a small advantage where the search term is actually in the filename. Not much but a bit. If that's the only place the search term exists, it won't do anything for you. But if it supplements other optimization, it may help a little.
Google highlights where it finds the search terms appearing. Try a few random common searches and notice how in the top 10-20 you will usually see hyphenated URLs appearing with some regularity.

Thanks minstrel, didn't know about those, and that 5cityguides4you site gave me an error message when I clicked that link:

Now that's odd. If I use the direct URL, I get that error too. But click on the link from this Google query:
