Indexing short URL page and long url page

Hello,
I was just wondering, does google try to doc you for duplicate content if you have links pointing to the long URL article and to the short URL article? My RSS feed produces the long URLs and so google has indexed these pages with long URLs but then my internal site links and any links that I do by hand are short URL. Will this affect me at all in any way?

I don't believe there is really a "duplicate content penalty" in this case. One page gets ranked, the other doesn't.

I agree with John, however there was duplicate content penalty's given to scraper sites who copied information and added adsense (or other ads).

Internal duplicate content like you have described(?) is ok because there is legitimate reasons for it including printable versions or accessible versions or snippets on the homepage etc….

usually site do have duplicate contents to some extents but that doesn't effect them....
