Ad key words to every page?

I am new to the whole seo thing and have a few questions.

When building web pages should I use Meta tags (desc. key words ect.) on every page or just my index/home page?

Also if I do use Meta tags on every page is it best to use new keywords ect. and try to optomize each page?

The site will mainly be used for adsense but will have other content.

Hope that all makes sense
thanks in advance.

Optimize each page for seperate keywords in the title, desc, keywords and body text.

Thanks,

So the point of doing that is to try and get listed under different keywords on the engines?

There is no advantage to using the same keywords ect. on each page?

Put them on every page that you create and publish. The search engines will find all your pages and if you want to stand a good chance of them ranking your pages highly, you'll want to put the meta tag element on each of them.

Since the search engines use a variety of factors to determine site rankings, optimizing a page to rank high is a cumulative effort. You should use everything available to you that the engines might give some weight, and therefore you should certainly use meta tags including the meta keyword tag.

If possible, have unqiue meta data on every page.

One of the most important things about meta-data is that Google will often use the meta-description as the document descriptive in search results.

So if you are careful to try and write meta-descriptions that entice users to clickthrough, it gives you an element of control that may help increase traffic, even without increasing rankings.

It's not always possible to write good meta-descriptions for every unique page, especially on dynamic sites, but is a useful feature to try and utilise, IMO.

Most search engines ignore the meta keyword tag. I'd put some thought into coming up with descriptive title (most important) and description tags (used by some search engines to display search results).

Good luck!
