I got a receipt from Godaddy for that one, then got an email stating that it didnt go through. I called Godaddy and was told that someone else registered the name 2 min before me! Even the Godaddy rep was shocked.
I blame it on Godaddy's slow checkout

I had the same for another site. I had seen something in the paper and went to get the .com and .co.uk. Both went through ok. It then appears the .com was taken by someone else a good few hours before?

Looks like Google News already has something up on it too ... and the first result in the main index is showing from base.google.com - mark that down as something "interesting"

P.S. Interesting question John - what happens if THIS forum page ends up ranking well for the keyphrase - are you blocking bots from it?

That shouldn't happen with dozens of competent SEO's optimizing for it. This thread doesn't even have v7ndotcom elursrebmem in the page titles.
