In Yahoo News for $35 or simillar ?
For the life of me I just can't remember where it was, but i recall reading a post somewhere in this thread where some person was able to land a release on (I think) Yahoo News for $35 or so.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was here in this thread somewhere.. anyway, if someone encounters it could you PM or link ?
Cheers,
JL

The press release we did got on Yahoo news. I think it was a $100 or $200 press release.

40
It's $40 on prweb ... it could get picked up on both Google and Yahoo news.. but in order for it to really get some decent syndication .. IE: get other bloggers talking about it... you need to have good content in the release.

Hey John congrats mate..
No1 and 2
proving wh over bh
provide ppl with fresh content that they would like to link to...
I knew it as soon as your site went up.. (or guessed) knew that adding links to you would help your site a lot plus everyone else, though wanted to because your provided a very nice free service which ive used every day.
and at the end of the day.. you probly spent less time on creating your system, than most others put into getting links etc..
well done on a great job..

Thanks peteinoz2, it's been fun to do
I'm glad you like the service, in fact it seems a number of people have found it useful and I do appreciate everyones support.
I must say tho the jump to #1 was largely due to the digitalpoint coop links I pointed at it. It was really just a test to see if the coop links would give me a boost, and how long it would take. I was surprised to say the least, when I hit #1.. I really only threw a small amount of weight at it, and it took all of about 72 hours to see a significant rise in rank - of course, now that the test is completed, the weight has been all but removed, and should see the site fall back out of the top ten within the next 2 weeks or so.
Surprisingly, it did take some time to get the services together (you wouldn't believe the amount of data behind the scenes - considerably more than the services suggest..)
Next up though.. I have a couple of pretty cool tools on the way. One of them provides historical data about your site in various forms, while the other, which I've been using purely for convenience sake (erm I mean beta testing), has to be the coolest so far .. but I don't want to give away too much just yet
Cheers,
JL

I would like to introduce a new tool which will really help everyone in this contest.
www.pyramidlinking.com has a referral program which gives 5 links for each new user you refer. Sign up is free for every site so referring people should be quite easy .
The main purpose of the site is to help people build & exchange links but I figured most of you would not want to add outgoing links to your sites?
The referral links can be nofollow if you wish.
Any questions please let me know.
