What works and what doesn't

I don't know how everyone is fairing from the last update. I am just trying to figure out what changed in the yahoo algo and what they like and dislike. Looks like links still rule. Any other ideas?

They are still filtering a lot of what they see as spam. I see sites over-doing the linking or keywords and getting booted. Seems manual.

I think your right on the manual idea. I think people are also abusing the spam report.

There are also some underhand techniques being used against the domain keywords at the top just now, I am seeing an extremely wide variety of methods and approaches being used.

Yeah basically the top5/6 just now in google are getting spammed links/pharmacy page links etc , some server hacking attempts and some other more serious things I have noticed going on, so all in all it's nice to watch.

I'm not taking it personal, the domain named keywords are no real threat and it is very early doors so I guess the spamming etc is just for fun, pages on older domains rather than keyword domains may well rise up in the next few weeks/months so I guess there are some bored black hats testing out theories/techniques in a very clean environment that offers more accurate proof/results in this fresh environment.

Yeah, I just searched for paper cutter and very few sites are relevant to what I was searching for. Ohwell, have to wait and see what the next update does.
