charlierobot is web crap
Where is my site in Google for 'my keyword' ?

I have done a Website Evaluation Test Tool as you can get to from my signature. I am trying very hard to give people EXACT standings - where their website is positioned for a certain keyword within Google.

Within charlierobot.com I get that and then tell you each week if you are lower or higher. For example:

www.charlierobot.com - [Search Engine Marketing] - 12,647 in Google
(improved 232 places since last week)

I feel that this is the information I want ..... does anyone agree or am I barking up the wrong tree.

Paul

It might be smart to tell your visitors why you want their full name and email address before they can run the tool, there are many such tools around wich give you instant online results without having to submit personal data. Me, for one, skipped the test as soon as I noticed that.

there are also plenty of free tools that work without collecting data. why not allow them access to the tool without collecting their information?

Thats a really good tool. It would be good if you could choose country specific versions of yahoo, google, etc to collect data from.

whatever showed you 12,367 wasn't showing your search position because the engines only show 1,000 results deep.

>It would be good if you could choose country specific versions of yahoo, google, etc to collect data from.

this one is google only, but works with multiple countries and it is free with no email required

:-) ... I like the comments.

The Website Evaluation Tool use every tool on the Internet and More .... thats what makes it cool, for me at least. I don't have to go around and check this here and that there, as well as that the results I can save to a html or send it to myself via email.

Why do I ask for emails and names, for 1 - the Alexa API costs and for 2 I send the report to your email, and 3 if I didn't then people would use it all day and the server would be spammed. Already since I launched it over 1500 requests a day go through it......imagine if I had open access it could be 5000 or more.

So maybe I should sell advertising space and get rid of the email ??
