Hi. Google uses a lot of heuristics in awarding Google
PR to a page and for their search engine ranking algorithm. These are two different things: Google
PR and Google SE rankings. A page with high Google
PR can be outranked in Google by other pages with lower Google
PR. There are lots of Google
PR 0 pages which rank high in Google for certain keywords...
Since Google's SE ranking algorithm and Google
PR awarding algorithm remain as closely guarded secrets: I suggest not to focus on these things since building the foundations of your business around closely guarded secrets constantly changed and frequently improved by a billion dollar corporation wouldn't provide you with the best value for your time and other resources...
High Google SE rankings for your keywords, assuming you have accurate industry/market/competition/keyword research data, will send lots of targeted traffic your way, yes: Though you can also drive traffic to your site's pages even if your pages have 0 or low Google
PR...
I recommend focusing on developing onsite content beneficial for your target audience. Your unique, high quality onsite content should inform, educate and entertain them to satisfy their related needs and solve their relevant problems...
You should then develop offsite content that can be useful for your target viewers who regularly visit other online communities and websites. Go to those online communities and websites to participate in discussions relevant to your niches and keywords. Help the other participants of those discussions by answering their questions or informing and educating them about things which they could use to improve their lives. You can even go to Google, use your target keywords, then go to the top ranking discussion pages in those online communities and websites to participate in those discussions. Build mutually beneficial relationships with your target viewers there...
Your offsite content should be effective previews to the additional benefits offered by your onsite content. Your onsite content should be effective previews to the additional benefits only found in your downloadable mailing list signup content. Your downloadable mailing list signup content and mailing list newsletters should be effective previews to the additional benefits only found in your products and services. That's effective traffic funneling. Here's a clearer description:
Offsite content ==>> Onsite content ==>> Downloadable Mailing List Signup Content and Mailing List Newsletters ==>> Product/Service Sales

Hi. I suggest these steps to possibly improve the Google
PR of your landing page -- "Possibly" because, like I said above, Google uses a lot of secret heuristics for their Google
PR awarding system and search engine ranking algorithm, and they constantly change and frequently improve these --:
1. Search for competing landing pages with high Google
PR. "Competing" = Pages in the same niches, targeting the same audience and keywords you're targeting.
2. Identify pages on other websites where those competing pages with high Google
PR have placed links pointing back to their landing pages.
3. Determine the Google
PR of those pages where their backlinks are found.
4. Outdo them. Place more backlinks on similar pages of higher authority websites. Those pages should have higher Google
PR than the pages where those competing pages with high Google
PR have placed their backlinks. Point these backlinks to your landing page...
