webposition gold, worth buying?

I used wpg free trial version for sometime. And I do get good results even with this free trial version.

Wondering if the seo experts here are using wpg? or any inputs for buying or not?

I stopped using it about 2.5 years ago. I havent' seen an updated one, but why do you use it? Position reports mean next to nothing, and doorway page generators are useless. What does it do that you can't do by hand better, or do with another free service elsewhere on the net?

When I ever have a new website I do these steps:

1. Link the site from my design portfolio or other site that has a high PR (on more than one page).

2. Pay Inktomi $30 to list the url and $20 for the main content page.

3. Submit to Dmoz but dont worry about it if it dont get in.

4. Submit to Zeal if it has good non-profit / product content.

...Then look at pay per click.

Is there any advantage in paying for this? I find that slurp usually visits within a week after the site is up.
