Google page rank depend to update contents, domain age, back links, site structure etc. if you want to huge traffic than use social networking site like facebook, twitter, linkdin etc. apart from use article submission, press release, blog, forum posting, classified ads, if you want potential client than target popular keyword for particular pages on your site in organic pages.

For increase the PR of your site do submissions in high PR sites. and for increase the trafic of your site promote your site into social networking sites like facebooks, yahoo answers, and twiters . that help you to incrase the traffic of your site. Do high PR directory ,social bookmarking and also promote your site in forums posting . Bolg comments give more benefit to your site if your comments is approved otherwise it is very difficult to approve a comments in blog .

At first ensure all of your articles are error free like spelling, grammatical, etc. Then use proper meta information and right use of h1,h2,h3. Keep the keyword density between 2-5%. Then start off page optimization i.e. Forum posting, Blog commenting, Article submission, Social bookmarking sites, Link wheel, Profile links, Directory submission, Digg votes, RSS feeds, Press release. Hope you will get good number of traffic and your PR will increase by doing those.

did you check how competitive your keywords that you're targeting? did you do it manually or did you use software(s) to create your backlinks? Keep in mind that there are many factors that goes into backlinks and you have to do them properly.

Thanks... I am not a newbie, kinda baptized by fire last 2 months, so I am familiar with everything said about SEO in these forums but I was not aware of this book... just got it... 600 pages though, lol...

PR is just a number, it doesn't help with rankings.
You can improve traffic by building quality backlinks and it will help you gain traffic from search engines as well from the sites where you have the backlinks.
