Create your account in Google webmaster tools. Build a sitemap for your site and submit it to the Google webmaster tool. Submit your page to all the search engines preferably mannual.

your webpage can be indexed within 24 hour also if you comment daily crawled blog, site, forum and yes it is not always that google show ur page on the day when its been crawled. sometimes after 2-3 days it shows that ur page crawled on this date

Good feedback... I also suggest making sure you have a SITEMAP submitted... someone mentioned google webmaster tools... it's a part of it.... you can find free online tools to create your sitemap or you can create it yourself... it's either going to be an XML file or a TXT file...
The sitemap is pretty much a map you are providing Google about your site... tells google which links you have, which pictures you have and so on (the latter is a less known factor, in fact you can submit picture-map etc. just like sitemap... )

Most sites take 1-4 weeks unless you are using a domain name that has some history to it.

Most of the time, Google indexes a new website progressively. The speed at which the Google index all of your internal pages, its dependent on several factors.
If you have any back links are very reliable and relevant, and also that it very effectively link internal structure, all internal pages are indexed quickly.

How did you check whether your site got indexed or not. Have you tried searching your site with the following code:-
site:yourdomain.com
?

Had one site indexed in about 15 minutes.....blew me away....
Then I got really slick with another site...it took over six weeks.....
The spiders will find your site...as long as you have at least one incoming link.....

So what are the things you've done already?
Your site will be indexed until it is recognized. And one thing that will make it recognized by the search engines is through links.

It depends upon your activity. Do some initial seo work and it will be fruitful. As my experience says, social bookmarking plays an important role in indexing.
