Yahoo vs Google indexing time
I am noticing that Yahoo and MSN are both much faster than Google these days when it comes to indexing new pages. By a week in some cases.

For me, and I have been putting up lots of new pages, and finding that Yahoo first, MSN a close second, and Google comes hobbling along ten days later.

Google shows me no love on my 7 month pet site. I have all Top 10, if not 1st and 2nd in MSN that generate lots of $$$.
Yahoo is starting to send me some decent traffic.
But google, zero, zilch, nada

I found that Google takes the longest to find my site. However, Google also comes back for more often than Yahoo or MSN. In fact MSN only really crawled my newest forum for the first week, but Google is still indexing heavily one month and a half in.

Google is cluttered with spammers in the pet sector, as well as real estate and loans for that matter. Somehow they can't figure out how to get those adsense and other spam pages pages out of their serps in those niches.

With my new site, 2 weeks old. Google was the first engine to index my site (407 pages according to my stats) but has been slower to include the index pages in the SERPS than yahoo.

When the v7ndotcom contest started I did a little comparison of Yahoo vs Google indexing speed.
From January 16th:
"In a show of indexing speed by the two major search engines, Yahoo search has the jump on Google for the indexing of sites which have covered or entered in the v7ndotcom elursrebmem SEO competition - 24 hours after the contest keyterm was announced. As of 11:15 am EST, Yahoo Search already has 70 sites listed in its search results for v7ndotcom elursrebmem, Google has zero."

Right now Google has 3,000,000 results for the contest keywords, but Yahoo has 4,000,000+.
Google is lagging.

Here's a funny post for y'all.
With my cable company all new pages have been indexed in MSN FAR faster than anywhere else. MSN also favors me for rankings related to that site. This may be from them crawling other sites backlinking to me more often, or something, dunno.
On my Superbowl XL site though, Google was the first site to visit, and has done so many times. Yahoo still no indexy, MSN finally has. But google shows all the love on this one. Why? I don't know.
Although it's an extremly simple site. it's only one page. Perhaps Google likes and trusts the simplicity of it? Google also ranks it very well for search phrases I haven't been trying to get.

Could this be cause of the 'up-coming' expected Big Daddy changes or perhaps the bots could be too busy chasing after those sites sumitting to sitemaps ?

I think these days - last several months at least - Google is very slow when compared to Y! or MSN.

For V-E, the sequence was Yahoo, Google ... and trailing by a lot, MSN.

With all those contests recently launched, I have checked the bots' indexing time, and for most of my new pages, I don't get the same results than you.
For V7ndotcom: Google -> Yahoo -> MSN
For Tiger l'osmose: Google -> Yahoo -> MSN
For a non contesting site (gîte): MSN -> Google - Yahoo
For another one (directory): Google -> MSN -> Yahoo
So it may depend on many things...
(I have observed that Slurp was the most assiduous amongst bots, MSNbot the less... So Yahoo should theoretically be the first one to index new pages, and MSN the last. It's strange it's not the case...)

MSN > Google > Yahoo for me.
MSN started hitting my site within 24 hours and started sending me traffic within 3 days of uploading my new sites.
I managed to get indexed within 2 weeks with two different websites on Google from what I am reading across the boards I have gotten very lucky. One was launched just before the Jagger update and the other before the Big Daddy roll out - am I seeing a pattern?
Yahoo is like cow dung for me that have given me 36 links since Sept 05

Whilst Google is the SE which brings me the majority of traffic, MSN is the choice when I am searching. Whilst Google takes 7-10 days to index a page in the search results, MSN is taking 2 days max.
