I was a bit quick to judge the quality, but I still wouldn't buy it...

I've read enough of materials by the people who endorsed that book to know that they endorse materials to make themselves money (who can blame them). But the content is usually of no use, or worse yet is a paid compilation of royalty free content.

Not to mention all the picture examples they show for search results, and incoming payments are marked 2004. Do you think search engine techniques have evolved since late 2004? I know they have.

Heck, what I learned on monday is almost obsolete now LOL.

I have read a few ebooks, there is only one SEO Book that I recommend.

I know this is going to cause a back lash of disagreement but I cant hold back from replying.

For me, I disagree in buying any E-Book for information mainly because you will find the same information online within any good SEO site or a good forum like this one. So why waste money when it could be put it better use for something that isnâ€™t free?

Usually these e-books are not selling any secrets as yet again the same info can be found online unless a search engineer as gone rouge and he starts selling his firms secrets online *Cough* Matt *Cough* Cutts

Just for the record he isnâ€™t 'selling' secrets of Google from what I know

From some of the ebooks I have seen (not related to SEO) it explained how to resell the e-book that the reader had just purchased - that was the secret of making money on-line! I never read an e-book again when I read one of these

I think if you did you'd find it has some great insights I do not see on SEO forums.

But what about being on websites

I have actually heard of the name a number of times and maybe with me being so stubborn on not buying e-books is the reason why I am not a pro at SEO.

Time for change I think - I'll look into this and thanks for the suggestion!

Aaron's book is very good - not read it all the way through, but I've learnt a few insights that I would probably have not picked up on a forum. I've printed it out and it's good to read in the comfort of your sofa, rather than over a PC!

Thats a great point BingoBalls and for the most part its true.

You can find answers to all your questions online but you need to know what to read, who is qualified, sort out which forum owner is trying to just sell you shit, and then you need to test every theory that you heard and think might be correct.

or.. you could buy Aarons book and save yourself a year or so of sifting through the bullshit on forums and a lot of testing. Aarons outlook on link building alone is worth the price of the book.

Spend money to save time.

Hear Hear Webprofessor.

I started learning SEO four years ago - not that long I know, but I'd not heared of 'e-books' then as I was still learning about the internet, and reading Aaron's book would of saved me four years worth of work.

Anyone know of any other good SEO e-books, or normal books that are worth buying?

Actually I found the Aaron Wall's video on Google, 50 minutes long. Anyone seen this? I think I'll give it a watch when I have a spare hour.

In saying that ridesign I advise you check out the video that I posted. This guy does know what he is talking about and should give you some good info.

I think I'll buy his ebook after seeing this....yes I will sit here and eat my humble pie after my comments of not buying an ebook

I don't think its hyjacking, its on topic as we are discussing over e-books which is useful for everyone.

I have just downloaded Aaron's video and will watch it on the iPod in bed tonight

Aaron Wall's book was good. I purchased it a few years ago and as long as he has kept it unto date it should provide a useful read with plenty of links to very good tools and resources.
