RSS and Pinging

Does these methods in SEO really works? What would be the advantages and disadvantages in RSS and Pinging in bulk or individually?

it helps SE bot to crawl your site more faster.. and i don't see any disadvantages so far..

it's just an option, but it helps your sites update easily crawled by SE bots

There is no more advantage of pinging in bulk. If your article is really fresh it will automaticlly index by search engine

This method is working for me... I don't have to make manual updates of my blog posts in RSS feed directories.
Also, RSS feeds helps in pinging the search engine, whenever you get any new content on your website RSS feeds pings the search engine to invite crawlers.

I don't see any disadvantage in RSS, bulk or individual pinging.

I do not mess with pinging, but RSS feeds, I use them a lot.

At the top of my blog I have 2 rss feeds coming from 2 forums that I work with. The rss feeds update with recent post and provide deep links to the forum content.

At the bottom of my blog articles, I have my own RSS feeds divided into sections so readers can see more links to click.

Go take a look at cnn.com and scroll down to the bottom of the homepage, that is a good example of rss feeds.

Yes, I believe that RSS submissions helps, Rss submission is really very helpful if your site is not cached.
Ping services help get your blog listed and found in blog directories and search engines and make your site easily crawled by Search Engine Bots.
