So, when one does that you can be sure it is not done out of a motivation to improve profitablity. It is done to get the attention of someone you feel important enough to validate you.

It's not a bad thing at all. It is just a human thing. It is also the reason we post in forums and write blogs by the way. I try not to judge, but I'm not above recognizing it and considering it in commercial endeavors. If you get my drift ;
I bet Matt does.
I've posted before reading this (I swear), and all I can say is I agree!
Except the sex part. LOL

I don't believe that search engines will ever respect seo as an industry, or any of the parasite tactics, which is really what they are.

Search engines are, and use parasite tactics too, and both have their users who are happy with their services.

I think that search engines do have respect for the seo industry, specially now the search engines are advertisement sellers ON websites.

Since they started to sell advertisements on websites, seo became in the search engines own interest.

Good point. Scraper sites come to mind. Google may frown upon common SEO tactics, but almost everyone can unite in wanting to rid the SERPs of scraper sites.

Yeah, that is cool that he remains that accessible. I hope to get the opportunity to chat with him sometime. I was just struck by the fact that it seems odd to discuss SEO with the guy who's job it is to combat those efforts. However, it does seem to make sense now that I think about it.

I don't think that google has any objections against seo. I think they realize that part of those who call themselves seo are ordinairy spammers and thieves and that, because of their adsense program, they are partly responcible for polluting the net with loads of spammers sites.

I've seen lots of ads for "create adsense pages" and it's mostly because of those that the pleasure in surfing get's a global dumper.

They gave spammers the motives and the tools and now they need to find a solution for this problem that they created themselves before it bites them in the ass, and it will if they don't find one.

Google is desperate, that's why they seek communication.

Well from Google's perspective it makes alot of sense. We need one another to make the future of search a success. I believe Google knows this. We as SEO's need to realise the same. However we need to know the borders of what information to share with them, as they clearly know the borders on what to discuss with us! Maybe ii should just be a case of keeping your friends close but your enemies even closer?

I believe that your Google success rate will be much higher when you work with them rather than against them.
