Internal linking?

Hello, i have a question about internal linking...
I have read several times that internal linking is very important now...

in few words internal linking is "linking from every page to ANY page"

but here is a question...

for example my website is http://www.lounge.am
it has about 20 pages or let it be 50. but there are 5 main links... like home, about us... etc...

and there is a menu that links to that pages

i wonder is this main menu considered to be part of internal linking? or besides this menu u should link to other pages sepertely?

Yes the menu is part of the internal linking. Internal links are any link from one page of a website to another page of the same site. They don't have to be from one page to every other page of the site. Those are called site-wide links.

Besides in your navigation you should look for places in the content of the page where you could include keyword targeted links to other relevant pages of the site. But when you do this don't add too many links to the content. My personal rule is 2 links for every 100 words of content.

Except from basic construction of your website, that normally covers 5-10 under header or footer, you should link your inner pages through your text. Internal linking plays an important position to boost your website on SERP.

Internal linking is linking of a page to other page of a website. Any navigation bar in your website is a part of internal linking.
