another seo contest

I didn't see where anyone else had posted this, but WT is having an SEO contest as well. check out the rules:

1. Who can rank the highest for a brand new domain for a keyword phrase (yet to be announced) in Google (the keyword will currently yield 0 results in Google).

Conditions:

* You must use a brand new domain name. The registration date of the domain used must be on or after the announcement date of the keywords used for the contest.
* No remotely hosted blog domains allowed (i.e. keyword.blogspot.com)
* No Subdomains Allowed
* Contest keyword can not be used in the domain (subpages with the keyword is fine).

I kind of like the 'new domain required' rule. Should make it interesting. something like $2k in value for prizes so far.

I think no ones talking about it because it didn't get the Buzz behind it that the v7ndotcom elursrebmem contest did...

While I'd love to have nothing but time to play around and join all of these other games... I can go out and make the total grand prize in less than a week working for my clients

So putting in 3 months of work for a few hundred doesn't seem like a wise investment of time to me...

The v7ndotcom contest is great because on the one hand it's a "game" and on the other it's an on-going research project for me to further my education. Plus it's just plain fun to be in the mix of things isn't it?

Oh yeah... another one that I heard about Azoogle ads is sponsoring through ShoeMoney for $25,000.00 - That one will probably be the next Big one IMO...

wow that made my heart skip a beat.

the WT one hasn't happened yet. They are hoping to kick it off within a few weeks. When I can see the point of needing to make it last a few months (all new domains required) I hope they get the prize money kicked up a bit. But $2k is a long shot from $25,000..... yowza.

I like Tim - he's a good guy. But I think he should have waited longer. After the v7ndotcom contest, a lot of SEO contests popped up, and it's hard to make a splash in the middle of all the new seo contests.

there sure are a lot. I have to say though... I think I like how WT is doing theres. I think

a. He's making changes from the first few, things he didn't like (at least it seems that way, and I agree.
b. He's waiting a bit rather than just jumping on it. Which is good, he can get a little exposure and build the pot some.

I noticed it's up to about $4k in value now I think. I don't think he plans to start it until after the v7n one ends though. not sure.

I hear you there-

I'd like to work on the carcasher one and try to actually build a nice page for it since I'm holding my 2 spot on yahoo pretty good, but every time I start working on any form of SEO (usually just links these days) I start to feel guilty if the time isn't being spent on linking to a money making site, lol.
