hi,
both are equally important as well as just not as a seo prospective but also as a user prospective so don't do any stuffing activities in on page optimization as well as need to work strongly on off page optimization.

I would depend on a combination of both to rank for the keywords I'm targeting.
But keep in mind the more anchor text backlinks you have for a website, it will get ranked for that keyword REGARDLESS if you have any on-page SEO.
A good example of this is the keyword "click here"
If you do a Google search for that keyword the number one ranking is a website to download Adobe. The reason why this site is ranked #1 is simple: there are literally countless anchor text backlinks with the keyword "click here" that lead to someone's information using Adobe as their foundation to present that information.
Moral of the story... keep building anchor text backlinks for your keyword and you scientifically WILL get ranked higher for that keyword. Pretty much guaranteed.

They are both important. Look at off page as the shorter term boost, every link is like a vote for your website. All your onpage SEO is longer term and tends to take longer to gain benefits. However it is vital for long term success. Most importantly make sure your onpage and offpage SEO are working in harmony with each other. Research 5-10 keywords for your niche and stick to them for both your on and off page strategies.

Google used to be 90% offpage and 10% onpage. Since panda, it's more like 80-20. You need to have the 20 in order before you embark on the 80 but let's not kid ourselves, backlinks are what gives you rankings.

Sorry, but I disagree totally with everything you have stated. Maybe 5 years ago it had a lot of truth, but not much relevance now, and most certainly not in the future.
The off page relevancy you talk about is being phased out and replaced by learning machine algorithms based around a learning based pathway algoritm (artificial neural networks, support vector machines, Bayesian networks, etc) that identify natural verse unnatural human behaviour.
The only thing that will count is on page. I can see no future in off page and see it as a waste of time in the long run.

Hello,
Both are most important in SEO for your website so there is no need to consider one over the other.
"without offpage you can't get more visitors and without onpage you can't attract your visitors...."
Thanks

On page optimization as well as off page optimization- bot are equally beneficial. On one hand, on page optimization enables you to get high rankings for the targeted key words, Off page optimization creates some quality back links for the website.

On-page SEO prepares a website for off-page search engine optimisation, therefore it should be done first. Off-page SEO usually brings more visitors though.

If I have to choose 1, I will choose onpage. We take jailbreakme as a case study, do they really promote their site? Why user keep bookmarking their site, and send the page link to friend? All because of, the site attract public interest. User and site owner promote them free of charge.

I think on-page seo and off-page seo is associated together to get good SERP for your site.AS long as you set up your on-page elements well, you can do off-page seo to improve it a lot. They are both very important for seo .and only you combine them together well.you must have a good rank in google.

It's like asking what is more important for a car--having gas in the tank or oil in the engine--you need both otherwise you are going absolutely no where.

On-page and Off-page optimization is equally important because if the one thing is missing from this two then it is not possible to get ranking.
On-page is primary process and off-page is secondary process.

While the percentages of on-page to off-page SEO vary based on certain components like,
• Keyword
• The site
• The age
• Trust and authority of the pages or
• Collective pages within a website
The ultimate conclusion is, in order to achieve efficient SEO results then a healthy balance of both is required.
your best bet would be, the accurate implementation of keywords on your site. That is the one thing my company and I have applied and mastered. Consequently it has brought the best results for our clients. You can also,
• Optimizing website content and HTML code
• Construction of optimized title and META tags
• XML sitemap & HTML sitemap creation
• Competitor analysis

Really you can not say that on-page is more important rather than off-page cause they are like the two parts of a coin with out one side the value is zerooooooooooo.
so we need both on-page and off-page.

On page may be more important. If you have great content many people will link to you.

Hello,
Both on page and off page SEO are important.
But I think on page is more important. Firstly, if your website have bad content than such site can’t be interesting for visitors. And secondly search engines are constantly changing their algorithm. So if your SEO strategy is designed only on off page SEO then, after another change of the algorithm you may lose your website visitors from search engines
