Does having pagination improves the page load time?

I had this question regarding having Pagination. If we don't have pagination, does it effects the page load time, since the list becomes large. or can someone list down the pros & cons of having and not having pagination. Also, how its importance from an SEO view point.

I have no quotes to back me up, but I am sure it does for the reasons you stated. It also greatly reduces the load on the server.

Also I feel that it better for the reader. I hate never ending web pages. Most people seem to prefer their data in smaller chunks.

Thank you for answering... we decided to have pagination. It is also logical to have it for convenient browsing.
