which keyword(s) do I chose?

I have been doing some research in to keywords for a site I need to build for work.

I would like some advice as to which keyword(s) to target from the 3 mentioned below:

#1
wordtracker count: 172
impressions my adwords ad received for this keyword yesterday: 304
Google competing pages: 5.38m

#2
Wordtracker count: 30
impressions my adwords ad received for this keyword yesterday: 159
Google competing pages: 3.28m

#3
Wordtracker count: 33
impressions my adwords ad received for this keyword yesterday: 78
Google competing pages: 374k

Now to me it looks as if #3 is most attractive, with almost 10x less competing pages than the next most popular keyword and still a steady number of queries.

However, should I disregard the other two keywords considering the amount of competition being faced? Should I optimise for just one keyword or all?

What are your thoughts guys?

I would target all the keywords on different pages, but I would focus my attention on #3 at first. Once I was placing well for #3, I would turn my attention to one of the other keywords (probably #1 since it could bring in the most traffic.)

Those things mean nothing, other than indicating not a lot of search activity.

Each keyword has to be analyzed by itself, while looking at the SERPs.

Jamie target all 3. Depending on the keywords in question you might be able to target all on the same page or it might be better to have three separate pages for each.

John's right about the numbers only telling part of the story. Since you're running AdWords on all three I'll assume you've done the research to know those keywords convert well enough on the site to want to target them.

No reason to limit yourself to one though. Target all three.
