Many different techniques are used to create backlink. But today mostly use some of these are social bookmarking, forum signature, blogs, because it better effects than other. If you want to more traffic on your site you must have high PR and high PR is depend on number of backlinks and quality of it. By using forum, blog you can create Dofollow backlink which has a good quality.

I would beg to differ with that statement. I have searched for stuff and had sites with low to zip PR show up in the top 10 results, which in theory would mean you would get at least some traffic from being there.

Better PR does not always equate to more traffic.

I also like to search every few days for blogs and web 2.0 sites in my niche. Place a comment with my niche that adds value, and insert my link.

Not every blog or site is do-follow, of course, but that's ok. No-follow links look good to Google, and helps to mask any hardcore SEO that you are doing.
