What is Cross Linking? Can it work as an SEO strategy?

Cross linking is the method to post links on few sites with each one. Let me explain. You have 5 sites of your own. if you post one site link on all other four site, and repeat the action with other four sites too, then it will be called cross linking. I think it is beneficial.

Well, what i understand is that cross linking is actually linking your all sites with each other. Means each site of your sites will have the link of your all other websites. Right?

in my opinion,like the shopping sites, sometimes,it will have several cross link products in the product detail for cross selling.or if u have a wordpress blog, and if you have several post,when you clink one post ,you may find there are two other post near the title which mean cross linking strategy.It is a good way to get internal pages indexed fast by search engines.

Yes! Cross linking may lead to penalized by Google because of over promoting the websites like using a single website cross linked to all other websites.

for cross linking we have to need own 5 or 6 sites, then we can do cross linking to each other.

there is a one more way for cross linking that is link wheel, where we need only web 2.0 website. there is no more need for list of own sites.

Ya, this is also called a blog wheel and is penalized by google if they see the same sites popping up constantly with the same links. I would try a different form of link building because that one is very time consuming.

Cross linking should not be done more, it will not be beneficial. There is limit for doing.
