How should I "place articles" or whatever you mean... into social media sites?
Some of my sites aren't really adequate for social media and except bookmarking and "Like" buttons, I don't really see other ways to use social media with those sites...

Most of these techniques I know, been marketing sites for years... just that I never got a strong punch upward in a matter of weeks, 1-2 months or so.
Is that doable?
Getting good backlinks requires a lot of work, so does good content creation...
But...
-how about social media bookmarking, how will Facebook "liking" affect me? (some say Google measures activity, buzz, dynamics that happens through SM)
-how can I get .gov, .edu backlinks?
-what can anyone tell me about press releases?
-how about good article marketing?

Dont much focus on just Page rank, focus on quality of the content and quality back links. Rest will take care of your requirement. Write good content that provide useful information to the end user so that they can link to your website. Cheers.

You must place quality content that others would like to share to others and others and so on... like viruses...

Keeping an active blog is one of the best ways to increase your page rank and visitor numbers.
Even one or two decent sized blog posts will help you more than you know.

Hello,
Is that really you on the photo?
That viral marketing thing is a nice myth, but in msot cases, it just doesn't work.
Thanks for the kindness, though...

Sounds interesting, but how will blogs help me more than usual .htm or .php pages?
Usually I code my own sites and then I upload 'normal' site pages...
I don't see why a blog post could help more. But if you are right, I'd like to know why... how?
I appreciate it, really

You should write up a article and submit it to various article directories, but your article shouldn't be copy content.

I think the fastest way to raise PR of sites to get one waY link from some .edu or .gov sites, Or from a site with extremely high PR 8 or 9. All other tehnicque are very slow.

I agree, never buy into over night SEO tricks or buying links. You will never win, search engines seem to catch up with poor search engine optimization and will dock you in some cases. The best way to attract traffic is to write passionate articles on topics related to your web site. This will ensure long term success, content is king.
