Adding articles to my site, is this a bad idea?

I have just added an Article Bot to my forum that will post related articles in parts of my forum but only articles that are related to that section.

I think its a good idea as it gives people something to read and I will make it so there articles that are not, well spread all over the net.

But I have one question as it is duplicate content will this be bad for my site?

Yes Google will see that it is duplicated and probably not pass any ranking onto the page. I dont know if it red flags your entire site but I wouldnt think so IMHO.

I read before that if you add your own content before and after the article it wont be seen as duplicate content but if it works or not is another question.

Personally I write all my own content, its easier and more fresh.

If you dont want to write your own you could have an article section that members could post their own content on tech related stuff and have the option to show the members url within that article.

I would rather write a tech article with my url for a site like yours than add to an Article submission site.

I do write my own, there not great lol

But I know what you mean I think I will just use it for when my members write something new in there member blogs, and do it so the bot picks it up and makes a auto discustion about it lol

By the way if you want to write any tech pages with your link added I am up for that, I am up for any one doing stuff like that

I don`t think google will ban you because of duplicate articles. But I am sure that google will not cache your pages.

Thanks you, I have added it to sections of my forum that only members can see and only reply with there views on the news and articles, this way the SE's can't see or spider the pages

I suck at writing articles with original content. I just don't havbe the linear thought process to stay on the same track long enough to complete anything coherent.

Someting that I have done in the past is to take a PLR article and basically rewrite it. I use thesaurus.com, dictionary.com and copyscape to change the wording until I have something unique.

It takes about an hour or three but there you have it.

I don't think it's good. I read somewhere that Google can detect what percentage of a site's content is unique, and if that were to be true... it would be great for improving Google's search quality. And bad for all the scrapers.

Isnt the point Article Bot to generate unique content ?

Are you talking about Article Bot the content generation program that takes an article and rewrites it or are you talking about something that just posts content periodically ?

oh wow if thats it I'd say it won't help you thats for sure. If your fiesty enough, I'd run them through a synonym generator.

One thing that is good for is upping the post count. Let that bugger go wild for a couple weeks and you'd probably reach the magic number of 500,000 posts to get you on Big-Boards.com

LOL I was thinking that but then I thought its just wrong so I will be trying to make it so that the bots posts dont count
