Optimizing homepage

in each page, we should focus on a few keywords only, is that correct? Let's say
- in page1 for service1, we have chosen 3 keywords for service1
- in page2 for service2, we have chosen 4 keywords for service2
- in page3 for service3, we have chosen 3 keywords for service3

Homepage is a general page, link to all internal pages. So, which keywords should we choose for homepage? We should NOT include all keywords for service 1, 2 and 3 in one page, right?

How do you optimize your homepage?

To optimize your homepage, add keywords in your homepage. But use those keywords properly, dont use keywords just because you want to add it.

Also add fresh & unique content in your homepage.

Mong got it right, reserve 1 - 2 brand keywords on the home page, also what products or services your website provide to make it relevant if a customer want to search your company or a user search a kind of services.

But hum............ its a very broad question it depends of what market youre in, but i would say NO do not use the keywords of the service 1, 2, 3 on the homepage. For myself i use 4 major keywords for each of my web pages, all are differents! And i saw some small benefits from that... Not only the homepage but some of my web pages ranks on SERPs because of it.

Homepage content should contain the summary of the services and a click to a service page will give you a detailed description of what the service is and include your targeted keywords.

Don't include keywords in one page if these keywords are not relevant to that page.

Always try to focus on 3 MAXIMUM keywords throughout your site. This includeds the homepage. I try to get my 2 best keywords and then focus on including them in all title, h1 etc tags and content text with a HIGH DENSITY. If you keyword stuff your content text then you weaken the keywords that you want to perform well for.
