how can a 1-page site with 10 backlinks out of which 8 backlinks are from forums get a pr4?

first i thought, my google toolbar was playing funny, i dint bothered to check for 2 days and then today i just checked at http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_checker
and yea its a pr4 (pr3 with www)



does pagerank no longer have any value? if sites like these so easily get pr4?

Not sure. I have a 1-page site with a PR5. The only links going in are from my signature in another forum.

Does links in sig have value in the calculation of PR?
I didn't know that

The last PR update was a bit weird, many "new" websites have got high PR.
My blog, only 2 months old with 6 posts has got PR5!

The google toolbar isn't always up to date, I've read. Is that tool pulling data from the same place or is it somehow getting more up to date data? Also, is it possible that the site recently changed it's size, and the PR is left over from previously? Just thoughts

By Google doing a PR update that's on crack!!!! Sites with very few back-links have gone from zero to as high as 8!!!!!

I'd be cautious when selling links on sites that have inflated PR...

Pairbrother,
Something silimar hapenned to me. I have slaved over http://WagerX.com to increase back links and content.. I seriously spent a lot of time on that site. I also quikly set up the http://CrazymonkeyCasino.com site without my extra SEO effort. Both have the same PR!!! Just like you, PR hasn't been consistent with backlinks and content evaluation. I need to find a more effective way to SEO.
