Bounce rate of my site is high
One of my client's site is having a high bounce rate. I am working with proper keywords and have content relevant to the keywords targeted. Even though the bounce rate is high. Are there any other factors to be considered to lower the bounce rate?

You need to work on two things...
- aspect
- content
Aspect, has a very important role because you can easy make someone leave from your page if you have only text for example. Another thing that I have noticed is small text in weird colors....that seems to have a negative impact on persons.
Content is actually the key to keep the traffic on because there are on your page with the idea to find something.

I'm assuming (yes I know what they say!) that you have Google Analytics installed?
If so, log in and look at the specific keyword strings being used to reach that page, you may find there is something odd happening, such as inadvertently appearing for a term which is popular but not relevant to the content. If this is not the case then you need to revise the content as you cant be giving the information that people are after.

Engage the users, give them a reason to want to stay. If they come to your page and it is full of errors, mispellings, etc, of course they will bounce.

I think bounce rate is a decent metric, but not my top cause for concern. On my site, we have a Wordpress front and Magento shopping cart in the back. The metrics don't truly reflect the bounce and I think it is not that relevant. What is important is repeat customers. This means that people want to come back and see what is new. You can see that in your Analytics as a percentage of new vs. old. Give them something new and fresh every day and see who comes back, and if you are getting new visitors.

How about the site speed? Readability or appropriate design?

Improving your content will improve your bounce rate. In that way, there will stay in your site and read those content that catch their attention. In that way, your visitor can be converted into sales.

As you said that content is relevant but is it unique content? And if so then try to keep your visitor engage to your site so this will decrease the bounce rate. And keeping the visitor engage you can use the blog method. As through blog you can provide your unique content then when you get the blog comment then be responsive for your comment and also provide the new content in the comment so that visitor will engage with you and you will not get the bounce rate. And it is necessary to decrease the high bounce rate else it affect the pagerank negatively.

I couldn't agree more. Maybe the landing page just didn't have the right keywords for conversion.

Increase in bounce rate means users are coming to your site(homepage) but, leaving instantly after that . I think you need to make your homepage more effective and fascinating .

Not only relevant content reduces bounce rate but also quality and attractive content is required to reduce bounce rate. Also your site should be user friendly with good look and feel.
